Uses::Metformin is used with a proper diet and exercise program and possibly with other medications to control high blood sugar. It is used in patients with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Metformin works by helping to restore your body''s proper response to the insulin you naturally produce. It also decreases the amount of sugar that your liver makes and that your stomach/intestines absorb.
Metformin is used together with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Metformin is sometimes used together with insulin or other medications, but it is not for treating type 1 diabetes.

Introduction:;Lidocaine, also known as lignocaine and sold under the brand name Xylocaine among others, is a local anesthetic of the amino amide type. It is also used to treat ventricular tachycardia. Theophylline remains one of the most widely prescribed drugs for the treatment of asthma and COPD world-wide, since it is inexpensive and widely available. In many industrialized countries, however, theophylline has become a third-line treatment that is only used in poorly controlled patients as an add-on therapy. This has been reinforced by various national and international guidelines on asthma and COPD therapy. Some have even questioned whether theophylline is indicated in any patients with asthma .although others have emphasized the special beneficial effects of theophylline which still give it an important place in management of asthma . The frequency of side-effects at the previously recommended doses and the relatively low efficacy of theophylline have recently led to reduced usage, since inhaled β2-agonists are far more effective as bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroids have a greater anti-inflammatory effect. Despite the fact that theophylline has been used in asthma therapy for over 70 years, there is still considerable uncertainty about its molecular mode of action in asthma and its logical place in therapy.
Uses::Theophylline is used to treat lung diseases suchas asthma and COPD (bronchitis, emphysema). It must be used regularly to prevent wheezing and shortness of breath. This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as xanthines. It works by relaxing the muscles around the airways so that they open up and you can breathe more easily.
Side Effects::: Nausea/vomiting, stomach/abdominal pain, headache, trouble sleeping, diarrhea, irritability, restlessness, nervousness, shaking, or increased urination may occur. The molecule itself is a cationic bis-guanide consisting of two 4-chlorophenyl rings and two biguanide groups joined by a central hexamethylene chain.
Chlorhexidine is a disinfectant and antiseptic that is used for skin disinfection before surgery and to sterilize surgical instruments. It may be used both to disinfect the skin of the patient and the hands of the healthcare providers. Chlorhexidine is used as a germicidal compound in teat dips. USES::Ammonium Chloride is a systemic and urinary acidifying salt. Ammonium chloride helps maintain pH and exerts a mild diuretic effect. This acid forming salt also exerts an expectorant effect by irritating the mucous membranes and is used for alleviation of cough.Ammonium chloride is used as a systemic acidifier in patients with metabolic alkalosis resulting from chloride loss following vomiting, gastric suction, gastric fistula drainage, and pyloric stenosis. Ammonium chloride also has been used in the treatment of diuretic-induced chloride depletion. A solution containing isotonic or hypotonic sodium chloride with potassium chloride usually has been more effective than ammonium chloride in hypokalemic patients. Ammonium chloride also has been used to treat alkalosis resulting from excessive use of alkalinizing drugs.

Introduction :Triethyl citrate is an ester of citric acid. It is a colorless, odorless liquid used as a food additive (E number E1505) to stabilize foams, especially as whipping aid for egg white. It is also used in pharmaceutical coatings and plastics.Triethyl citrate is also used as a plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and similar plastics.Triethyl citrate has been used as a pseudo-emulsifier in e-cigarette juices.It functions essentially like lecithin used in food products, but with the possibility of vaporization which lecithin does not have.
Uses:Triethyl citrate is used as solvent, diluent and fixative by perfumers. It is well accepted as an active ingredient in deodorants and excellent for fragrances. In pharmaceutical applications Triethyl citrate contributes as plasticiser to the performance of enteric-coated tablets
Applications
Triethylcitrate is used as plasticizer in e.g. adhesives, inks, sealants, plastics and coatings. Here it does primarily reduce hardness of polymers and can be further used to regulate viscosity.
In the personal care industry it is used as solvent or diluent as well as a fixative for perfumes. As an active ingredient it can be also used in deodorants.

Introduction :
Cinnarizine is an antihistamine and calcium channel blocker of the diphenylmethylpiperazine group.[1] It is prescribed for nausea and vomiting due to motion sicknessor other sources such as chemotherapy,[3] vertigo, or Ménière''s disease.
Cinnarizine is a piperazine derivative, which is extracted from wood reed roots. It exhibits antihistaminic and calcium antagonist property. Glimepiride, like glyburide and glipizide, is a "second-generation" sulfonylurea agents. Glimepiride is used with diet to lower blood glucose by increasing the secretion of insulin from pancreas and increasing the sensitivity of peripheral tissues to insulin. The mechanism of action of glimepiride in lowering blood glucose appears to be dependent on stimulating the release of insulin from functioning pancreatic beta cells, and increasing sensitivity of peripheral tissues to insulin. Glimepiride likely binds to ATP-sensitive potassium channel receptors on the pancreatic cell surface, reducing potassium conductance and causing depolarization of the membrane. Membrane depolarization stimulates calcium ion influx through voltage-sensitive calcium channels. This increase in intracellular calcium ion concentration induces the secretion of insulin. Glimepiride is used for concomitant use with insulin for the treatment of noninsulin-dependent (type 2) diabetes mellitus. Glimepiride`s original trade name is Amaryl.Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea drug used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Introduction ::Haloperidol is a major tranquilizer. It is used to control symptoms of psychotic disorders. Side Effects
Haloperidol has the potential to produce a serious side effect called tardive dyskinesia. Tardive dyskinesia involves involuntary movements of the tongue, jaw, mouth, face, or other groups of skeletal muscles. These side effects may appear after people have stopped taking haloperidol.
Precautions::Haloperidol may cause low blood pressure (hypotension). For this reason people with heart and blood pressure problems should be carefully monitored while taking the drug. Haloperidol also increases the possibility of having seizures. People with a history of seizures or who are taking anticonvulsants (medication to control seizures) should take lower dosages of haloperidol and be closely monitored by a physician until a safe dosage is established. Introduction:Clioquinol (iodochlorhydroxyquin) is an antifungal drug and antiprotozoal drug. It is neurotoxic in large doses. It is a member of a family of drugs called hydroxyquinolines which inhibit certain enzymes related to DNA replication. The drugs have been found to have activity against both viral and protozoal infections.Clioquinol is an orally bioavailable, lipophilic, copper-binding, halogenated 8-hydroxyquinoline with antifungal, antiparasitic and potential antitumor activities. Clioquinol forms a stable chelate with copper (copper (II) ions), which inhibits the chymotrypsin-like activity of the proteasome; consequently, ubiquitinated proteins may accumulate in tumor cells, followed by tumor cell apoptosis and the inhibition of tumor angiogenesis. In addition, the clioquinol-copper complex appears to decrease the expression of androgen receptors (AR) in human copper-enriched prostate cancer cells. Introduction:
Enoxaparin is a low molecular weight heparin used for the prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis and ischemic complications of unstable angina and non-Q-wave myocardial infarction.Enoxaparin is a common low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH) used in the prevention and management of various thromboembolic disorders. Initially approved by the FDA in 1993, it is administered by a subcutaneous or intravenous injection and marketed by several pharmaceutical companies.10 Enoxaparin markedly reduces the incidence of venous thromboembolism in hospitalized patients when compared to unfractionated heparin, without increasing the risk of serious bleeding.
Indication::Enoxaparin is indicated for the prevention of ischemic complications in unstable angina and in non Q-wave myocardial infarction; it is indicated in conjunction with percutaneous intervention and/or other treatment for the management of acute ST elevation myocardial infarction. Enoxaparin is also indicated in the prophylaxis of DVT in abdominal surgery, hip replacement, knee replacement, or medical patients with severely restricted mobility during acute illness. Additionally, enoxaparin is indicated for the inpatient treatment of DVT with or without pulmonary embolism and the treatment of outpatient DVT without pulmonary embolism.
