Imidocarb dipropionate (brand name Imizol®) is a drug used to treat infections caused by protozoa (single-celled organisms that sometimes cause disease). For example, it is used to treat the infection babesiosis in dogs. This infection is caused by the protozoa Babesia which is transferred to pets from tick bites
The preparation method of the imidocarb comprises the following steps: (1) mixing nitrobenzoic acid with thionyl chloride and obtaining nitrobenzoyl chloride by carrying out a reflux reaction of the nitrobenzoic acid and the thionyl chloride, (2) adding the nitrobenzoyl chloride into acetonitrile and then adding P-Mo-V heteropolyacid and ethylenediamine, obtaining 2-(3-nitrophenyl) imidazoline by carrying out the reflux reaction of the nitrobenzoyl chloride, acetonitrile, the P-Mo-V heteropolyacid and the ethylenediamine (3) adding the 2-(3-nitrophenyl) imidazoline into a solvent, adding palladium carbon, and obtaining 2-(3-nitrophenyl) imidazoline hydrochloride by carrying out a reduction hydrogenation reaction of the 2-(3-nitrophenyl) imidazoline, the solvent and the palladium carbon, (4) adding the 2-(3-nitrophenyl) imidazoline hydrochloride into N-dimethylformamide, stirring and adding urea, and obtaining the imidocarb by carrying out a reaction of the 2-(3-nitrophenyl) imidazoline hydrochloride, N-dimethylformamide and urea for 4.5-5.5 hours. According to the method, purity of imidocarb liquid is more than 99%, and molar yield is stabilized at more than 71% and higher than the existing highest yield of 65%.
Are there any potential side effects? Dogs: The most common side effects in dogs include pain during the injection, salivation or drooling, nasal drip, and brief episodes of vomiting. Less commonly reported side effects include panting, diarrhea, swelling at the injection site, and restlessness.

- Introduction of product:Clorsulon has the chemical formula of C8H8Cl3N3O4S2 and its IUPAC name is 4-amino-6-(1,2,2-trichloroethenyl)benzene-1,3-disulfonamide. It is a kind of benzenedisulfonamide derivative which shows fasciolicidal activities. The drug is narrow-spectrum veteran flukicide and applied on livestock mainly ruminants (cattle, sheep, and goats).
- How does it work? : Clorsulon inhibits the enzymes implicated in the glycolytic pathway, the primary source of energy in flukes. Further investigations indicated that Clorsulon is a competitive inhibitor of 8- phosphoglycerate kinase and phospho-glyceromutase and blocks the oxidation of glucose to acetate and propionate
- Applications. Or where it is used:Clorsulon is a substance belonging to the benzene sulphonamide family which is used for the treatment and control of adult flukes. Veterinary medicinal products containing clorsulon are currently marketed in the EU for the treatment of cattle.
- Manufacturing process:The invention discloses a kind of preparation method of clorsulon, with chloroform condensation, then chlorination under m-nitrobenzaldehyde low temperature, then through cancellation, hydrazine hydrate reduction, chlorosulfuric acid, ammonification obtains clorsulon.Present invention obviates the use of the larger benzene of toxicity;
- How to use:Clorsulon is a narrow-spectrum antiparasitic active ingredient used in veterinary medicine. It is used in livestock against liver flukes. It is not used against agricultural and household pests. It belongs to the chemical class of the sulphonamides.
- Dosage of usage:Closulon is a narrow-spectrum anthelmintic effective against some flukes (e.g. Fasciola hepatica). It is not effective against roundworms, tapeworms or external parasites.It is used moderatly in ruminants mainly as an injectable and very little as a drench, mostly in mixture with ivermectin to add flukicidal activity.

Oxyclozanide is a salicylanilide anthelmintic, used for the treatment and control of fascioliasis in cattle, sheep and goats. It is formulated as an oral drench containing oxyclozanide only or in combination with levamisole hydrochloride or oxfendazole or as a powder to be incorporated in the feed.
How does it work :Oxyclozanide is a salicylanilide anthelmintic. It is used in the treatment and control of fascioliasis in ruminants mainly domestic animals such as cattle, sheep, and goats. It mainly acts by uncoupling of oxidative phosphorylation in flukes.
Applications. Or where it is used :Oxyclozanide is an antiparasitic active ingredient used in veterinary medicine against internal parasites (mainly flukes) of livestock. It is not used against agricultural and household pests. It belongs to the chemical class of the salicylanilides.
Manufacturing process :The preparation method comprises the following steps: performing nitrification and reduction, and finally performing condensation with 3,5,6-trichlorosalicylic acid to obtain oxyclozanide.How to use :The usual therapeutic dose of oxyclozanide is 13-15 mg/kg for mature flukes; however, repeated doses (15 mg/kg for 3) may be needed to eliminate immature flukes. Thus the drug may be used to control acute fascioliasis in ruminantsDosage of usage :Oxyclozanide can be administer as a drench at the rate of 10 to 15mg per kg. body weight up to maximum dosage in cattle 100 ml and in sheep and goat 20 ml. in sheep for acute fascioliasis give thrice the normal dose.

How to use:closantel is a salicylanilide which is used for the treatment and control of adult and immature flukes, nematodes and larval stages of some arthropods. Closantel is indicated for the treatment of cattle and sheep and is administered subcutaneously in the dose range of 2.5 to 5 mg/kg body weight.
Side effects :Most frequent symptoms of closantel intoxication are:Loss of appetite;Ataxia (uncoordinated movements);Weakness;Visual disturbance;Blindness
Warnings and precautions while using this product
In goats, subcutaneous injection of closantel can cause brief but strong pain at the injection site.
At therapeutic doses closantel usually does con cause ADRs, excepting those previously described but in a mild and transient form.
The combination of closantel and ivermectin does not affect the pharmacological behavior of closantel.

It is abundantly used in ruminants in some countries (e.g. in Latin America) but only scarcely elsewhere. Use in pets or horses is very rare.
